A Trip Down YouTube Lane

It’s amazing what you can find on YouTube when you put your mind to waste some time and just start following links from one video to the next. I was doing just that when I came across a video that had a funny looking VTOL contraption struggling to get off the ground. I quickly recognised the background scenery as the LDMFA field and was pretty sure I recognised the voice behind the camera.

From Brian Evans;

“Yes that’s my voice and I think that I was the one behind the camera. The film was taken at Lilydale in the mid 90’s. the pilot and designer of the plane was Don Incol and at one time we had a rivalry as to who could design and build the most unusual planes. The other person inspecting the bits after the crash is Doug Cole who we don’t see much of these days either, but I think he at least is still a member. I think that I may have the original film somewhere as well as some photo’s of Dons other projects. One of them was a semi scale Lockheed Salmon tail sitter and that one worked quite well and was sold as a kit. I will look for the film and photo’s and writes a spiel about it”
